Børkop Cykler is a family-owned bike shop with many years of experience. They offer everything from children’s bikes to high-end custom models priced well above DKK 100,000. In addition, they carry a broad and deep assortment of cycling equipment and components, both in-store and online. Their target audience is wide, but primarily consists of men and women aged 25–34, while the high-end segment is mainly men aged 40–60.

We spoke with store manager Jonas Myrup to learn more about his decision to integrate Anyday into both their webshop and physical store.

Why did you choose to add Anyday?

“Our industry is a luxury industry. Bikes are not a necessary product, and therefore there needs to be flexibility. If customers are going to buy something expensive, whether it is a bike or equipment, it makes sense to be able to split the payment.”
“More and more consumers expect split payments. It was an obvious choice for us to include it as a payment option.”
“If you don’t offer different payment solutions, you risk that the customer goes somewhere else and finds financing.”

How did you experience the implementation of Anyday in the store?

“It was a really good and professional process. It was easy to get started.”
“For the sales staff in the store, it is one of the easiest payment setups they have worked with. It did not require a lot of extra time.”
“It basically just runs. The flow is simple both in-store and online.”

How could you see it in your sales?

“Overall, I would say that the payment solution is primarily used for purchases between 1,000 and 10,000 DKK on the webshop. It is typically equipment and smaller purchases such as components and upgrades.”
“In the store, we see a different pattern. Here, it is more often bikes in the 20,000–30,000 DKK range where the solution is used.”
“It works super easily for customers. In the store, they just scan the QR code and pay, and then that’s basically it. It is fast, simple and without a lot of hassle.”

What would you say to another bike shop considering Anyday?

“It is easy and simple, the whole flow with down payment and payment just runs.”
“For me, it is a solution you should adopt in your bike shop if you want to make your target group broader. If you do not offer different payment options, it is easy for the customer to go somewhere else and find financing.”
“There will always be someone who prefers a financing solution, whether it is bikes, a house or a car. And there needs to be room for them.”
“And yes, it costs something as a business. But the alternative can be that you don’t get the sale at all.”
